Dr. Todd Haskin
Dr. Todd chose the field of dentistry to be able to connect with patients one on one and for the ability to form strong, lifelong relationships with them. Growing up in Minnesota, Dr. Todd volunteered to serve his community, earned his Eagle Scout award, and enjoyed the outdoors. Dr. Todd received his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Brigham Young University and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Todd met his wife during dental school and he immediately began visiting her home state of Alaska and fell in love with the state. Dr. Todd requested to be stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska where he served as a dentist in the Army. Dr. Todd and his family love being part of the tight-knit, down-to-earth community of Fairbanks. After finishing his Army service, it was a natural transition to continue to serve as a dentist with his friends, family, and amazing community in Fairbanks.
Dr. Todd believes in involving the patient every step of the way in treatment and utilizing the newest technology to educate and treat his patients. He particularly loves helping children and families, patients who have high anxiety, patients who suffer from TMJ problems and leaving every person feeling better about themselves. He strongly believes in getting to know and treating the whole person, not just the teeth.
Dr. Todd’s biggest success in life is his marriage to his beautiful wife, Nikki. Together, their greatest joy is helping their young daughter learn and grow. When not at the practice, you can find Dr. Todd with his family hiking, running, and fishing.
Dr. Lini Mickus
Dr. Lini Mickus was born in China and moved out of the country with her family when she was only three years old. Growing up, her family lived in many places around the world including three different continents: South America, Europe, and North America. Her family finally settled and resides in sweet home Alabama.
Dr. Mickus’s journey to becoming a dentist began during her time as a Dental Assistant in the United States Air Force (USAF). Towards the end of her first enlistment, she decided that she wanted to become a dentist. In 2005, she attended the UAB School of Dentistry in Birmingham, Alabama on a full scholarship from the USAF. Upon graduation, she furthered her education by attending the USAF Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Joint Base Bolling AFB in Washington, DC. Later, while Stationed in Aviano AB, Italy, Dr. Mickus met her husband, who is currently serving at Eielson AFB.
Dr. Mickus understands that many patients have some fear and anxiety when visiting the dentist, and she hopes to build a foundation of trust by treating each patient as a unique individual, and by providing patients with a positive environment. She is committed to providing the best care to her patients with a comprehensive and preventive approach to oral health.
While Dr.Mickus is fully committed to her career as a dentist, she believes that her most important job is to be a wife and mother to her children. They are excited of this opportunity to live in Alaska, and can’t wait to explore Alaska’s great outdoors.
Dr. Jimmy Leale
Dr. Jimmy Leale of Puyallup, WA put Alaska on the top of his list when requesting a new station. He currently serves as a Comprehensive Dentist in the US Army, stationed on Ft. Wainwright. Aside from the breathtaking beauty of the Alaska landscape and abundance of outdoor sports and activities, he has found the tight-knit community and people of Fairbanks to be the most endearing.
Dr. Jimmy graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Biology and continued on to earn his D.D.S. at The Ohio State University in 2013. While in the military, he has completed two post-doctorate residencies to expand his skill set including oral surgery, periodontal surgery, and endodontics. In addition, in 2019 he successfully challenged the American Board of General Dentistry.
With a passion for serving others, he has attended a dental mission in Honduras and served in a mobile dental coach for an underserved population. Dr. Jimmy believes in empowering patients and fostering a caring environment. In addition to experience and attention to detail, his down to earth humor and compassionate chairside manner put his patients at ease.
Dr. Jimmy’s most treasured role is as a husband and father to three rambunctious boys. When not serving patients, you will find him on the floor wrestling with his boys and taking an active parental role. He also dedicates many hours to service in his church. Recreationally he enjoys skiing, hiking, fishing, self-improvement reading, and eating his wife’s delicious food.
Jessica grew up in rural Pennsylvania, north of Pittsburgh. In 2006 she moved to Fairbanks and completed her art degree in drawing and painting at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After graduation, she fought the siren calls of Pennsylvania and endured a year of poverty and self exploration until she landed at UAF working in housing. In November of 2019, Jessica joined the FFDC team as an office assistant.
Jessica is currently completing her masters with a focus on Post-WWII and Holocaust art while still working on her own art. In her free time, she does aggressive team building exercises with her husband as they build their house together. To decompress afterwards, they explore the Alaskan outdoors by getting lost on random paths and finding hidden places with their dog Huck.
Terin moved from Oregon to Fairbanks in 2013. Her deep compassion for people lead her to massage school and licensure in 2015. In 2020 life events and a broken leg interrupted her career leaving her longing for a new”home base” and way to participate in the health and wellness of her community. She joined Fairbanks Family Dental Care in May of 2020 and has no intention of ever leaving. Terin is excited to consistently learn more about the dental industry and walk with our patients throughout their dental journey. When not in the office, Terin can be found playing with her horses, living that mom life, hunting, hiking throughout the great outdoors, and of course at her massage table enhancing the lives of those around her.
Krista moved to Fairbanks 2 years ago from Florida where she grew up and married her high school sweetheart. The Army gave them the opportunity for a new adventure by stationing them at Fort Wainwright. Krista was trained at the Army’s dental clinic Kamish and did over 600 volunteer hours helping soldiers be ready for deployment.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and Great Dane watching movies, hiking, and exploring the amazing things Alaska has to offer.
Stacy grew up in Alabama. She has the luxury of living in Alaska due to the military. She obtained a dental assisting certification at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College. She enjoys educating and helping patients work through their dental fears.
In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time outdoors and hiking with her 3 children and dog named Peanut. She is an avid trail runner that loves exploring various mountains and trails wherever she may be. She also likes observing and learning about different cultures by traveling to different countries such as Italy and Germany. She volunteers her time with the Eielson chapter of Stroller Warriors.
In 2015, Amanda moved to Alaska from Texas where she grew up. She went to dental hygiene school at Coastal Bend College in South Texas. Amanda was a dental assistant in the general and orthodontic fields before returning to college to become a dental hygienist. Amanda has been in the dental field for 18 years and a dental hygienist for the last 12 years. Amanda loves Alaska and spends her time shooting, hunting, and fishing.
Originally born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Maya moved to Arizona in 2007 to complete her education. Maya graduated from Carrington College in Mesa, Arizona and is a registered dental hygienist in both states of Alaska and Arizona. She moved back to Fairbanks to further her dental career and spend time with her family. Maya strives to ensure our patients always feel well informed and comfortable during their visit. Her passion is to educate and help patients overcome their dental fears and achieve their needs. Maya enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. Maya cannot deny her love for the outdoors including camping/hiking, boating in the summer, and snow machining up in the mountains of Summit during the winter as well as having an artistic side painting and drawing.
Tiff was born in Kentucky but her true roots lie in the heart of North Carolina (bless your heart). Her wandering spirit has led her to multiple career paths which includes massage therapy school, working as an ER and lab technician at Duke Hospital, receiving an art degree, and finally attending UNC Chapel Hill to become a dental hygienist. After hygiene school, Tiff did multiple missions in Africa to provide dental services to the people of Senegal and Guinea. Her craving for more adventure eventually led her to Alaska where she joined the FFDC team in 2020.
In her spare time, Tiff seeks the uncertainty of sport fishing and the solitude of painting. She also enjoys the challenges of marksmanship in shooting but most importantly values family time with her seven siblings, nieces, and nephews.
