Dr. Todd Haskin
Dentist
Dr. Todd chose the field of dentistry to be able to connect with patients one on one and for the ability to form strong, lifelong relationships with them. Growing up in Minnesota, Dr. Todd volunteered to serve his community, earned his Eagle Scout award, and enjoyed the outdoors. Dr. Todd received his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Brigham Young University and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Todd met his wife during dental school and he immediately began visiting her home state of Alaska and fell in love with the state. Dr. Todd requested to be stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska where he served as a dentist in the Army. Dr. Todd and his family love being part of the tight-knit, down-to-earth community of Fairbanks. After finishing his Army service, it was a natural transition to continue to serve as a dentist with his friends, family, and amazing community in Fairbanks.
Dr. Todd believes in involving the patient every step of the way in treatment and utilizing the newest technology to educate and treat his patients. He particularly loves helping children and families, patients who have high anxiety, patients who suffer from TMJ problems and leaving every person feeling better about themselves. He strongly believes in getting to know and treating the whole person, not just the teeth.
Dr. Todd’s biggest success in life is his marriage to his beautiful wife, Nikki. Together, their greatest joy is helping their children learn and grow. When not at the practice, you can find Dr. Todd with his family hiking, running, and fishing.
Dr. Nikki Haskin
Dentist
Dr. Nikki was born in Alaska and jokes she has “dual citizenship” since she spent part of her childhood in Alaska and part in Arizona. Alaska has always been where her heart is though, and after high school, she returned to Alaska to attend the University of Alaska, Anchorage. At UAA is where she developed a love for the sciences and dentistry. She obtained a degree in Biology from UAA then had to once again temporarily leave Alaska to attend dental school.
Dr. Nikki graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in California. During dental school is where she met her now husband and work partner, Todd. She helped Todd fall in love with Alaska as well and they both moved to Fairbanks after dental school graduation.
After dental school, Dr. Nikki pursued her passion for public health and pediatric dentistry at Tanana Chiefs Conference. Dr. Nikki loves seeing her patients transform their smiles and their lives. She is funny and caring with all her patients of any age and especially loves connecting with children and helping them overcome their fears at the dentist. Dr. Nikki is happy to now be a part of the family business, continuing to serve Alaskans with their dental needs.
Nikki loves the tight-knit community of Fairbanks and the beauty of all of the seasons. In the warmer months, you will find her with her green thumb in her garden and enjoying walks outside with her family. In the winter, you will find her playing with her children and family both outdoors and indoors. Nikki also enjoys working out, doing crafts with her children, and playing with her two cats.
Dr. Roxana Mirabal
Dentist
Dr. Roxana Mirabal started her career in 2001 when she took a position as a part-time dental assistant in a pediatric practice. She quickly realized she loved the teamwork approach and one on one patient interactions dentistry offered. She decided to pursue more training in the field, completing an Associate in Dental Hygiene in 2003. She later obtained her Bachelor of Science in Genetics from The University of Georgia and applied to dental school. She was accepted to The Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and graduated in 2009 with her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Shortly after graduation, Dr. Mirabal was excited for the opportunity to work as a dentist in Alaska. Her position included traveling to provide care to remote interior communities, as well as providing services in Fairbanks. She was thrilled to get to see this beautiful state and serve amazing people. Dr. Mirabal enjoys performing a wide range of procedures on patients of all ages. She is passionate about providing a good treatment experience. She believes in empowering patients to take charge of their oral health through education.
Dr. Mirabal and her husband, Dominic, have made Fairbanks their permanent home and are happy to be raising their two daughters here. They love all the natural beauty and great friends they’ve met. Dr. Mirabal enjoys photography, cooking with her children, and spending time outdoors with her family.
Dr. Kelly Bast
Dentist
Dr. Kelly grew up in Fairbanks after transplanting in 1980 from Madison, WI. After high school she went on to run NCAA D1 cross country and track at Bradley University in Illinois. After majoring in Biology, she continued on to The Ohio State University School of Dentistry. In 2005, she moved back to Fairbankswith her husband, a born and raised Fairbanksan. Although she was adamant about only returning for one year, she quickly realized that her love of Alaska and her hatred of traffic was too much to leave.
When Dr. Kelly isn’t playing dentist, she moonlights as a chef, housekeeper, chauffeur, and life coach to her three kids. She jokes that she doesn’t have any hobbies due to lack of time, however, it was recently revealed that she loves an activity called “puzzing”….also known as putting together puzzles.
Dr. Brant Jones
Dentist
Dr. Brant was born in the small town of Keokuk, IA, and later moved to Omaha, NE, where he grew up as a proud Cornhusker. His journey in dentistry began in 2014 when he completed a one-year dental assisting program back in Iowa. He then returned to Lincoln, NE, to pursue his
undergraduate degree while working as a dental assistant. Dr. Brant went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he received honorary recognition from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
Following his graduation in 2022, Dr. Brant moved to Phoenix, AZ, where he pursued additional training in implant dentistry, Invisalign, and comprehensive treatment planning at the SPEAR Institute. It was also in Phoenix where he met his wife, Ally, an OB-GYN resident at the time. The two quickly bonded over their love of the outdoors, their energetic dogs, and a shared passion for helping others.
While they loved the opportunities and adventures Phoenix had to offer, they longed for a smaller, close-knit community to call home. After visiting Fairbanks, they knew it was the perfect place to put down roots. Dr. Brant is excited to be a part of this welcoming town and to serve the community as a member of the FFDC family.
Dr. Becca VanLaeken
Dentist
Dr. Becca was born and raised in Upstate New York. She began her academic and athletic journey at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, where she earned her undergraduate degree while competing as a Division I lacrosse player. She later received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida.
After dental school, Dr. Becca joined the U.S. Army as a dentist, providing care to service members and their families across the country. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Fort Carson, Colorado, where she expanded her clinical training in comprehensive care.
In 2023, the Army brought Dr. Becca, her wife, and their cat Boots to Fairbanks — where they quickly fell in love with the community. Not long after arriving, they adopted Denali, a sweet and goofy dog from a local shelter. Together, they enjoy hiking in the summer sun, playing board games with friends, and attending local events like the Yukon Sled Dog Race, the Midnight Sun Baseball Game, the World Ice Art Championships, and both Solstice Festivals. They also appreciate the unique side of Fairbanks, especially the rubber duck race and cheering on the Ice Dogs at home games. Though Fairbanks may not be their forever home, Dr. Becca and her family are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a vibrant and tight-knit community.
Brandy
Dental Hygienist
Brandy was born in Peoria, Illinois, but primarily grew up in the great state of Texas. Shortly after graduating from high school, she moved to Oklahoma with her husband to begin his military career. It was during this time that she was introduced to the dental profession and her love for dentistry began.
Brandy decided to pursue her passion in becoming a dental hygienist when her husband received orders to Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson. She obtained her dental hygiene prerequisites from the University of Alaska Anchorage before her husband received orders to Mountain Home, Idaho. After a daily commute of three hours (M-F) and over 90,000 miles total, she graduated with her Dental Hygiene degree from the College of Southern Idaho. In 2014, another move brought her to Eielson AFB. She worked as a contract dental hygienist at Ft Wainwright, AK for the last seven and a half years, before joining the FFDC team.
In her free time, Brandy enjoys spending time with family, friends, her dog Finn, ATVing, “Glamping”, fishing and most things that involve the outdoors.
Holly
Dental Hygienist
Holly was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. She has spent most of her life scuba diving, spearfishing, hunting, traveling, fishing, snow machining, hiking and spends most of her free time outdoors with her dog Bristol Bay. She attended college at UAF, received her Bachelor’s Degree at the Utah College of Dental Hygiene in 2019, her Master’s Degree in Education at Western Governors University and an Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching Certification through The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. After practicing Dental Hygiene for the past 4 years in Eagle River, Alaska, Holly is grateful to be back in her home town and part of the Fairbanks Family Dental Care team.

Hunter
Dental Hygienist
Hunter grew up as a child of the military and has lived all over the world, but Alaska has been his home for the longest—18 years. After highschool, Hunter studied Nursing Health Sciences and English at the University of Alaska, . While on a gap year after receiving his Bachelor’s in English, he began to find interest in more specified medical paths—dentistry being one of them. Hunter joined the FFDC team as a dental assistant in 2021 and after studying dental hygiene in Boise, Idaho rejoined in 2025 as a dental hygienist .
In his free time, Hunter enjoys many random things: hiking, reading, writing fiction, painting, listening to music, and spending as much time as he can with his chocolate lab, Luna.
Stacy
Lead Dental Assistant
Stacy grew up in Alabama. She has the luxury of living in Alaska due to the military. She obtained a dental assisting certification at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College. She enjoys educating and helping patients work through their dental fears.
In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time outdoors and hiking with her 3 children and dog named Peanut. She is an avid trail runner that loves exploring various mountains and trails wherever she may be. She also likes observing and learning about different cultures by traveling to different countries such as Italy and Germany. She volunteers her time with the Eielson chapter of Stroller Warriors.
Wildalyz
Dental Assistant
Wildalyz was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to El Paso, Texas in 2020. Then, thanks to the military she was given the opportunity to discover Alaska in 2023. Wildalyz always had an interest in the medical field, as a certified EMT, she also quickly developed an interest in dental and decided to pursue a career in it. In her free time, Wildalyz enjoys outdoor activities, quality family time, and cooking delicious culinary delights.
Amara
Dental Assistant
Amara was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. Throughout high school, she developed a passion for the medical field and wanting to care for others. She was fortunate to explore emergency medicine through Hutchison High School’s EMS/EMT program. Her experiences there inspired her to initially pursue nursing.
She began attending college at University of Alaska Fairbanks, and transferred to Nevada State College to finish her pre-nursing certificate. During her time at Nevada State, the pandemic hit and she chose to pause her postsecondary education. Though she had amazing experiences living in Nevada, she ultimately decided it was time to move back home in 2023.
Amara joined our team in April 2024 and is training to become a dental assistant and couldn’t be more excited for this experience!
Growing up in Alaska has really made Amara appreciate nature. She loves spending time outside with family and friends, and is so thankful to live in such a beautiful state! Camping, hiking, and road tripping through Alaska are some of her favorite things to do during the summer. During the cold winters, she finds joy in watching the northern lights.
Sharee
Dental Assistant
Sharee has lived in Alaska since April 2010, living in Delaware before that for 13 years. She grew up in the military, traveling while she was a child, until her father retired in Delaware. She has been in the dental field since she was a sophomore in High School, attending a vocational high school. After graduating, she applied for a job in Alaska and had the opportunity to work for Chief Andrew Isaac, where she would travel to provide dental care to the villages.
If Sharee is not working, she enjoys everything outdoors with her family, when it’ nice, and keeping her dogs, Leo and Winston, busy.
Hannah
Dental Assistant
Hannah was born and raised in North Pole Alaska, where she attended North Pole High School and graduated in 2017.
As a small child, she knew she wanted to be in a field where she could make a difference, helping people. Hannah started her dental journey a little over a year ago with a pediatric office. There she spent her time helping children and teaching them the importance of oral hygiene. Although she had fun working with primarily kids, she knew she had so much more to learn about also working with and helping adults. One thing about Hannah is she loves to learn and enhance her knowledge to be the best at what she’s doing.
When Hannah is not at work, especially in the summer, you’ll find her rollerblading or running around town, or at our local race track. She has two beautiful children that keep her on her toes, who she loves to do walks, scavenger hunts and anything that involves art with. They have a Little Rock collection they’ve made of all the rocks they have found and painted from each little walk or hike they take!

Lauren
Dental Assistant
Lauren is a lifelong Alaskan and has spent the majority of her life in Fairbanks. She graduated from Monroe Catholic High School and played many sports growing up, her favorite being volleyball. Another part of high school that Lauren enjoyed was volunteering and that led her to
continue volunteering during her time at Concordia University Portland. She loved volunteering at the Oregon Food Bank and aiding food-insecure neighborhoods. Lauren ended up getting her Biology degree and psychology minor from UAF, and hopes to pursue a career in healthcare to continue helping others. She joined FFDC at the end of January and looks forward to learning all we have to offer. In her free time, she likes to be outdoors in the sun ideally, spend time with family and her pets, go thrifting and do DIY manicures.
Ariana
Dental Assistant
Ariana Holford was born in Fort Wainwright, Fairbanks, Alaska, but her journey took her across the country—from Sacramento, California, to Lawton, Oklahoma—before eventually returning to Fairbanks, where she now calls home.
As a child, she dreamed of becoming a Disney actor or a fashion designer, but by middle school, her interests shifted to the medical field. First, she set her sights on becoming a neurosurgeon, then a nurse. It wasn’t until one visit with her dental hygienist that everything changed. Hearing her hygienist talk about the profession sparked something in Ariana, and from that moment, she knew she wanted to be in the dental field. Now working as a Dental Assistant at Fairbanks Family Dental Care, she’s passionate about patient care, learning new skills, and growing in her career.
Outside of work, Ariana loves spending quality time with family and friends, whether it’s sharing laughs, making memories, or simply enjoying life’s little moments.
Tommy
Dental Assistant
Tommy grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he attended Monroe Catholic High School. After graduation, he headed to Tucson for undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona. Tommy graduated this May with a Bachelors of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Biomedical Sciences. Tommy intends to go to dental school after gaining relevant experience as a dental assistant.
For fun and in his free time, he enjoys skiing, snow machining, going to Harding Lake, hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
Jacalyn
Dental Assistant
Jacalyn was born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma, and joined Fairbanks Family Dental Care in 2025 after relocating with her husband due to his military assignment. She brings nearly a year of experience in general dentistry and was inspired to enter the field after having a negative dental experience herself. That moment shaped her passion for helping patients feel comfortable, respected, and well-cared for—especially those who may be nervous or unsure about dental visits.
Outside the office, Jacalyn enjoys exploring Fairbanks, trying new foods, and spending time with friends. She’s looking forward to visiting Alaska’s national parks and hopes to see the northern lights. At home, she enjoys relaxing with a good book or show and spending time with her two cats and husband.
Shawna
Business Manager
Shawna was born and raised in Idaho and found her passion for dentistry while still in highschool, working after school for her dentist. After graduating she went on to obtain her Dental Assisting Certification and never looked back. In 2009, only a year after their vows, Shawna and her husband, Marty, received orders to Eielson AFB and relocated to Alaska. They immediately fell in love with the area and knew they would be staying. Fourteen years, a beautiful daughter (Aria), two dogs and a cat later, you can find Shawna and her family spending summers at the race track, camping, kayaking, and BBQing with friends. During the darkness of winter Shawna’s travel bug is prevalent and you can often find her and her family at the airport coming or going or planning their next adventure.
Audrey
Patient Care Coordinator
Audrey was born and raised in Fairbanks. Most of her family lives here but they are originally from Illinois and Wisconsin. Audrey loves to visit though it has been too long- my favorite stop is the Shedd Aquarium, she can never get enough! In Alaska Audrey spends her summers hiking as much as possible and exploring greater Alaska. Her favorite spot is Millers Landing Campground in Seward and exploring during low tide is her idea of heaven!
Audrey’s child and her spend most of their spare time reading, walking and playing with her two dogs and cat. Additionally they spend as much time as possible creating in the studio. Audry is an acrylic painter with a deep love of epoxy and Alaskan art. She loves designing and executing a piece whether it is for her own enjoyment or a commission.
She has worked in customer service for quite a while, spent five years managing in retail and is thrilled to gain a new skill and work somewhere that is benefitting her community. Audrey loves the flow and connection in the office and is so pleased to be a part of the FFDC team!
Kaitlyn
Patient Care Coordinator
Kaitlyn was born in Iowa, but primarily grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska. Shortly after graduating from University of Alaska Fairbanks in the fall of 2013, she moved to a small town in Montana. In Montana she was introduced to the dental field and her love for dentistry began. Her career paths varied in the early days from working in the mental health and addictions field to opening a pop up bakery but she seemed to always find her way back to dentistry.
Kaitlyn enjoys spending summers outdoors hiking or on the water with her little family. In the fall and winter she can be found at hockey games, hanging out with friends at local breweries, playing video games, baking or traveling this wonderful world.
Leah
Patient Care Coordinator
Leah was born and raised in Fairbanks and attended the CTC Dental assisting program in 2014. She has worked in many aspects of dentistry and loves what she does! Leah started with us May 2024 and is excited to be apart of our team!
Outside of work, Leah loves fishing, camping and enjoying summers at her family’s cabin.
Mason
Patient Care Coordinator
Mason hails from the Lower Yukon, where he spent his childhood in Mountain Village and Saint Mary’s along the Yukon and Andreafski River. After graduating from Nenana City Public School, Mason discovered his passion for healthcare and spent seven years as a Dental Case Manager, honing his skills and building a strong foundation in patient care. As the eldest of three siblings, with three younger sisters, Mason has always embraced leadership and responsibility.
With years of hands-on experience under his belt, Mason is now taking the next step in his career journey. He plans to further his education by pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, one step at a time.
When he’s not working, Mason enjoys outdoor activities like long walks, berry picking and photography!
Kai
Medicaid Specialist
Kai was born and raised in the Philippines where she currently resides. She lives in Bulacan with her closely-knit family and frequently spends days with her partner, Rea, in Pampanga.
In her spare time, you can find her working out at the gym or out on the field with her pals playing soccer. On rainy days, Kai enjoys time at home with her siblings, playing guitar and singing.
Kai has five years of customer service experience and is eager to harness her skills and gain new ones in a place where the same values are shared. She feels most satisfied when she is able to assist others. She believes in FFDC’s core values and is grateful to be part of a team that is both supportive and enjoyable.
Fritz
Administrative Assistant
Fritz was born and raised in Davao City, Philippines where he currently resides. What captivates him most about living in Davao is the breathtaking views of the mountain ridges that surround the city. There he enjoys life with his partner, Julie, and her 4 year old son, Jacques. Their spare time is typically filled with cherished moments, whether it’s relaxing on beautiful beaches or cozying up to watch movies together.
In 2019, Fritz graduated in San Pedro College with a BS in Business Administration major in Financial Management and started working as an operations assistant in a bank. During this time, he has accumulated more than 2 years of experience in customer service. What truly resonates with Fritz about his role in customer service is the daily opportunity to engage with a diverse array of people. Listening to their stories and sharing in their unique experiences has not only enriched his professional growth but also left a profoundly positive impact on his personal life.
Fritz loves sports, particularly basketball and badminton, and competes in a few local leagues in Davao. He also enjoys spending quality time with his friends, often accompanied by good conversation and a refreshing beer where their spontaneous spirit often leads them to embark on unplanned midnight journeys, and wind up neighboring cities and create memorable adventures together.
